Tail lights are very similar to Infiniti (Q60 coupe). MB always knocks it out of the park on S class, so I think when this is officially launched it'll look great in person.
And Im surprised nobody has mentioned the huge HUD projector area, or that's why I assume that is.
To quote myself from my first post in this thread...

This car is going to come with Level 3 autonomy, so I would imagine there's a connection between that and what seems to be a heads up display that will take up most of the windshield (in height, not width)
Oh wow. They were initially planning on rolling out a software update to activate it on the cars that shipped with all the hardware once the regulatory bodies approve its use. Sucks to see that was going nowhere. If adaptive matrix headlights are still outlawed here in the US, I can't imagine Level 3 autonomy being permitted anytime soon. I wonder what direction Mercedes will take with this as I think the word that the next-gen S-Class would be Level 3 autonomous came directly from MB.

matrix lights are now allowed in US. That law was changed in late 2019

No. They were planning on having the final ruling in December of 2019 but that didn't happen. It is now allegedly on the agenda for this month. As of this point in time, they are still not permitted. Here is a screenshot of Porsche Cayenne configurator. See the disclaimer at the bottom of the page.
In addition, on March 4th of this year, Subaru sent the NHTSA changes they'd like to see made to the proposed rule. Whether or not that will delay things even further, who knows. https://www.regulations.gov/document...2018-0090-0217
Too early to tell on front end styling, because the close up angle of the front shot causes perspective distortion where the head looks really big and the tail looks really small.
Must wait for more photos before I can decide.
Exterior looks generic to me, especially the tail lights, but I actually don’t mind the interior. Like all new cars a lot of people won’t like it at first but MB typically knocks it out of the park so I bet when it comes out peoples opinions will change. I think it will be a wait and see.
