Bought a 2020 Tacoma Today
Congrats on the truck! I remember driving my cousin's 2005 Tacoma manual and it was a lot of fun back then.
I am a little shocked though at the price of midsize and full-size trucks, even factoring in inflation. I was cleaning out the garage and came across my original Moroney sticker and sales sheet for our 2006 Tundra Double Cab, the first vehicle I bought on my own. It was negotiated entirely through email back in May 2006 with the 1-man Internet Sales division of Stockton Toyota. $26,500 easily beat everywhere else locally so I made the 1-hour trip to pick it up. We still have the Tundra in the family at 140K miles. My Dad has the Tundra now and considered downsizing to a Tacoma but they cost more than our Tundra on the used market. Resale, and in turn, residuals are really high for the Tacoma. Happy motoring!

Got my preliminary quote on a TRD OR w/ long bed - MSRP a hair under $40k. 24/15k, RV 76%, MF .00156.... $341/month with only first payment due. Not bad, but I think it could be better. For about the same or little less, I should be able to do the respective Tundra. Hmmm..... House refi should happen mid next week, so need to wait either way....
Beautiful truck . Congrats.
I have a leased 2017 tacoma . 9 months left on lease .
I want to get in a 4 door long bed like yours. Locally 4 dealers have extract teuck I want in a 200 mile radius. Quicksand/sandstorm color
they have offered 4500$ off msrp
but interestingly NONE of the dealer wants my 2 year old tacoma with 20k miles as a trade in. They are telling me to sell elsewhere due to Covid
so I guess I will wait 9 Months, turn in lease and get a tacoma then

While the tundras have pallots of money in the beds, the tacos got a sizeable amount of suitcases as well. Either way I`m glad you went with what you wanted all along!
The rear drums apparently are for "enhanced durability" so rock and sand wont cause issues offroad

great choice! i feel your pain about not having this in a manual but i agree the 6 ft bed looks way better with the double cab
i would love one of these as a trd off-road with 6mt, in terms of monthly payments vs msrp it's about the most awesomeness per dollar vehicle one can lease

I thought so!
Thanks.
I would definitely agree. There's plenty of room for something smaller than the Tacoma.
Thanks!

Thanks! It would have been much easier to go with a short bed, as there are more options, including the Limited trim, which I had seriously considered, but now I'm really glad that I went with the long bed. As I mentioned previously, I was often limited with my previous short bed and had often wished I would have had the long bed. I didn't want to make that mistake this time around. And I am pretty certain that I will just pay it off and keep it at the end of the lease, so I intend to keep this for a very long time.
