You are right, bluepiz. The SL55 and the S55 do make slightly more HP than the E55. Not sure about the CL55, though I'm guessing it shares an engine with the S55. The CLK55 has the older, non-supercharged 5.5.

That's only on paper though. They've all been dynoed at exactly the same RWHP. It's all just marketing BS.

E55s...oh...yeah, whenever people ask me are they REALLY that fast, i simply take them out for a demo ride..as soon as their spine gets snapped back into the seat, they became speechless.. ..then some of them are happy to fork over $10k over msrp

few weeks ago, i sold this young kid a clk55(not really worth $70k, imho)...and her family ordered an sl55 ..

I'd rather have that that a SL anyday. It has a more classy look than the SL.

I have a friend that does that... puts deposits down on hot upcoming cars like the E55, etc... then when they come in he flips them for an easy $10k. With profit margins at entry real estate level it seems hard to go wrong

I saw an E55 dropped on 19" HREs.

I WISH I HAD MY CAMERA.

It was a think of beauty!

Anyone have one for sale for 10k under msrp?

i saw my first one up close this weekend, and boy, that'd is still one of my dream cars. seriously, if i won the lottery, that'd be one of the first things i'd buy, besides some killer camera to document my joy.

looks sleeker and classier than the M5 by all means

There is a Brabus SL, I cant remember the name, that puts out a little over 700lb feet of torque. At 1700rpm!!! I cannot imagine the response, that is so much power slowly accelerating from a stoplight would be almost impossible without spinning the tires.

When I was down at the MB dealership ordering my mom's '04 CLK500 the guy let me sit in and pop the hood on a black/black E55. Being 17 and at least 20 years away form a car like that, its the closest I've ever been to heaven. In one of my magazines (MT or R&T etc) they tested the RS6 vs the E55 and actually gave it to the RS6 because its more civilized and due to the AWD handles bettter, but I would LOVE to have a monster like the E55 one day. Its just....savage. Come on, 0-60 in low 4's in a sedan. Ridiculous. Haha notice how the little traction flasher light comes on when he's laying down 100 foot strips of rubber. Hope he knows he's not hooking up.

P.S. I saw a parent picking up their kid from my school in a brand new RS6. Jaws dropped for miles around. Nice ride there too.

James
