2 series is spartan and the only ones worth getting are M240I or M2. You should wait for the 2020 M235I GC that was just debuted, only downside is FWD but since you have an Infiniti that tells me M235I GC would suffice since the Q60 in and of itself is not a drivers car.

Utter hogwash. The Q60 in question is RWD, standard 330hp V6, with great handling and an optional manual transmission. How exactly is that not a driver's car? This is the kind of brand snobbery that makes BMW owners look bad.

The M235i GC is ugly, wrong-wheel-drive, and has too many doors, but otherwise fits the stated requirements perfectly.

^^^ glad you jumped on that first.

the q60 may be a bit heavy, and have an out of date infotainment systems, but other than that, it's a blast to drive. It's quick (not M4 or Tesla quick but not slow), sounds great, handles well, looks great, etc. the 2 series GC is a joke and a really lame model from bmw... looks like a corolla, and like a corolla, it's fwd-based. It is definitely NOT a driver's car. Not saying fwd cars can't be fun... subi wrx, vw golf r, etc. (all with awd of course).

The 2GC has a cheap wrong wheel drive drivetrain that's not even worthy of BMW name, but otherwise its a competent car with excellent infotainment system and comparable to other cars in its class. It is also an universal platform that BMW can milk to no end - currently Mini models, X1, X2, 2GC and other versions that are available across the pond. The Q60 is a good car, but infotainment is so terrible, its like using a Blackberry in 2020. The 2 series coupe might be spartan in lower trims, but its very functional and competent, much like any BMW. I had an m235, have an M2, and will likely have another M2 unless I decide to go with the Supra next time around.

You can have your M235i with the X-Drive 4 wheel drive system. It'll always have a FWD bias but can send 50% of the power to the rear wheels. It also has a Torsen LSD so it will steer and handle well, not as well as a traditional RWD BMW, but certainly better than your average FWD compact car.

I can't help you with the looks though.

I've driven this system extensively in the X1, and I will agree it drives well for a FWD-based vehicle. I had some fun hooning it up in the snow, as it was fairly easy to get into and maintain drifts in low-traction situations. But it still understeers like a champ on dry pavement.

Have you driven a Q60, it has terrible steering etc, even the 3IS is a better drivers car, infiniti does have more power that's all but the 3IS had better balance and steering etc. I have not seen a single review that praised the Q60 handling, it's no G70, that's for sure. In this class of cars the rwd Q60 loses in driving dynamics versus the G70, former ATS, 3IS, F30 etc, those are facts.

Q60 doesn't have an optional manual - only auto. I do agree it's a pretty solid drivers car and an exceptional value

Not anymore. But the one in the OP was a 2015. And the manual was absolutely offered. You'll note I didn't call out the 400hp TTV6 either, because that engine wasn't available in the previous gen.
