Tesla doesn't fix rattles. They charge for it so I'll deal with my rattle. They only fix rattles in the first month or two. Just FYI.

One thing not mentioned here is there is California and the rest of the USA. There are still states that don't allow Tesla's to be sold.

Outside of a CA and major urban areas, service centers are few and far apart if at all. This has to be a factor in ins cost. Tesla ins is only available in California at this time.

We have either a dealer a service center in the works here. We're a good sized city but I don't know if we are a "major urban center", that would be Nashville.

I'm not a Tesla fan but there are lots of them around town.

i've not looking into tesla rates personally, but it would definitely be a factor to consider.
Rare? lol... everyone and their mom drives a Tesla in SoCal. It's the new Toyota around here haha.

I'll bite. This is with Allstate pulled straight from the app for my 3P. My wife's insurance is slightly higher

I think some people out there must be paying $8000 a year to offset those of us who only pay $1300 a year.

It's the only explanation! Either that or they haven't shopped around for a while. I had State Farm for 15+ years and about 18 months ago switched over to Allstate. I ended up cutting my home/auto by about 40%. State Farm didn't even try to match it...which makes me wonder how long I had been overpaying...

Switching over explains some of it. Insurance co's definitely provide attractive rates to fresh meat new customers.
i had allstate for years... their rates got stupid, went to progressive, saved 40%.
