once you get complacent, it's really hard to claw back.

Acura is only known for its bread and butter CUVs. But even Honda SUVs are eating its sales.

Infiniti is pretty much on life support.
I don't see anyone drive infiniti anymore here in the LA area.

Complacency, and crap products.

Looks like they’re going longitudinal for the engine.

The Legend and TL were longitudinal, so this is nothing new.

The BMW 3 series have longitudinal inline sixes but I don't recall them having extra long hoods??

3-Series is a dedicated RWD platform. Acura uses FWD platforms and sometimes uses longitudinal placement for the engine rather than transverse.

Product version did leak a while ago. Type S Concept hottest details and quirks are lost in translation but still looks good enough.

Nice thanks for sharing. Looks plain, but still better than the current TLX

so........ engine is still tranverse.

Seems like a lot of empty space behind the engine, and all that weight in front of the wheels.

Longitudinal engine RWD platforms can place the transmission at least partially under the front passenger cabin space. As visible from the diagram, with the engine sitting over the front wheels, the transmission sits behind the front wheels and under the front passenger cabin, shortening the hood.

Longitudinal engine RWD:

Longitudinal-engine FWD platforms, however, cannot do this, since the transmission must include the final drive differential and half-shafts to the front wheels. This means that the transmission cannot sit under the passenger cabin space. As visible from the diagram, the engine must sit forward of the front wheels, allowing the transmission to sit over the front wheels; the transmission cannot sit under the front passenger cabin, lengthening the hood.

It does look like a transverse engine sitting forward of the front wheels. If it has a long hood and long dash-to-axle ratio, there would be space behind the engine -- just like the latest Volvos.

That space behind the engine may not be totally empty and wasted if the exhaust manifold sits on the back end of the engine (like in new Mazdas with SkyActiv engines).

Doesn't look like a V6. Maybe it's a non-Type S model.

it's swoopy but overall not feeling it with that front end / hood being sooo long with giant front overhang.
