People will make money on the brand regardless, I think there is some Prius factor going on. Once the people who want them have them sales will slow.
You're completely ignoring the sales data. Prius buyers were the very definition of niche buyers. Only a certain type of buyer bought Priuses. Tesla is taking market share from all brands, luxury or economy. Every demographic.
There's no putting this Jeannie back in the bottle. You're just in denial
Ya think? Maybe that's true of just about everything?
Yep, and that's why I don't particularly care too much to do anything other than short them since other makers will create something more desirable. Tesla has yet to refresh anything, it will get old soon.

I don't care honestly, they have made me enough money it's irrelevant to me now if they fail or not but they are going to have to come up with more options and better designs.

I was told Tesla would be out of business way back in 2016. Still waiting.....
We can all classify Tesla based on whatever is important to each of us. We vote with our money, right?
But you'd better believe Lex, BMW, MBZ are terrified of Tesla. Of course, so are Toyota, GM, etc.
Why? 2 reasons:
Tesla is the better managed company. Almost every car company declined in sales in 2022 due to the pandemic. Tesla grew in excess of 40%. Not to mention margin strength...
Owners love 'em. Customer Sat is the #1 indicator of repeat sales.
Maybe Tesla can be like iPhone - each gen looks exactly the same with minor tweaks, most of the changes are from feature content.
quite possible, but even iphone has in fact changed a great deal over the years. but maybe the 911 is a better comparison... always a 911, but it's actually massively changed over the decades.
I’m shocked so many ppl buy these cars due to the goofy styling and very plain bare bones interior.
the model 3 and S looks pretty great. i don't see how you can say they're 'goofy'. the Y 'tall 3' is not great looking from certain angles (front and back).
Not convinced that this will be sustainable for another 5-10yrs.
i think it might be! but there will be changes.
I do think unit sales will increase overall as Tesla enters new markets worldwide.
agreed.

comparing tesla's sea change of innovation with a pt cruiser? please.
Tesla sales that many in one quarter. There are 4 quarters per year
For everything they sell.....this was a one model freak occurrence. Tesla is the same thing on a brand level, they will run out of people to sell to unless they start making something cheap and something high end. If they moved to subscriptions it would help a lot since they then can truely be treated like phones/throwaway items.

I think you are are completely missing the big picture. Selling a million cars a year is not a trend. Being a trend wouldn't propel you to being the 18th most valuable company in market cap. It's like Blackberry calling iphone or Android a trend, which they did.
You heard it here first, Tesla is the same as the PT Cruiser. I'd be so embarrassed if I posted that.
And since it came out (PT Cruiser), I think I've only seen 3 at the most. I can't even count the number of Model 3 and Y I see daily. More of them than Camry, Accord and Civics combined
