the twin turbo S600 has the same brakes as the S55, might not be the same kit but it looks pretty damn good- exhaust is quieter but hey... add a Maybach chip and thats it you might run an 11.7 1/4th like that other S600 guy did
in terms of performance upgrades, I have a feeling the S600 might have a nice advantage- the new SL65 will use a ~600hp!~ version of the same motor, the Maybach uses the same motor with a few differences

it all depends on the type of options and equipsments on that 2003 S55..if it is fully , i mean fully loaded with an msrp of ~$130k, then it is a GREAT deal....btw, i work for a MB dealer in LA...
and i would take the S55 over S600....

I would like to know what you people think. I found this one in West Palm, my only problem is its a 2003 model, even though they didn't make any changes, I sorta would like a 2004 model. I flew down and test drove this one and it only has only 42 miles on it. Take a look at the pics and tell me if you think I should settle for this one, or get a 04 silver one. Oh yeah, they are going to sell it to me for $105,000.00

Get the car. I really don't no but the only reason I would bye a 2004 is...if the 2003 didn't have the new AMG sport seats. Those things are sweet. As for the lights I thought both had the bi-xenon lights? Oh well if not you're still rolling AMG..Holla.

Like GS430 GUY said the S600 has more torque, and not very many people can say that they have a twin turbo V12.Either way they are both awesome cars. Check out www.mbworld.org they have a lot of good info. Good luck.

Although this would NOT keep me from getting this INCREDIBLE Automobile....I just can't get over the fact that it doesn't have a Wood, Brushed Alluminum, Carbon Fiber, etc. type of sweet-**** stearing wheel?
Again...VERY minor item.

I actually asked about that. They said AMG takes the wood wheel off because if you are driving agressively then that area can get slippery.
the steering wheel on the car is the sport wheel.. I can have MB add the wood one if I like. $2600.00 option

Get the damn car already. The early W220 S cars had some problems with electronics, AC, suspension. I think MB has ironed out most of the kinks with this model. I have a 2000 S500 and have had minor issues, but luckily I didn't get a lot of the optional electronics which seem to be the source of most of the problems. Choosing between the S600 and the S55 is tough especially if you are not going to modify it. Similar hp and tq figures, though the AMG has more visual distinctions. There is not going to be a lot of changes between the '03 and '04 unless you really, really want a 7 speed auto. The redesign is coming in '05 I thnk. So if you can save $20k, I agree with the others on this list... get the car and put on some nice rims. AMG rims are too common and don't really do the car justice IMHO.

Looking at his sig I would assume he uses his Hummer H2 as his personal 1 year right off car. I am no accountant but I know a few people who bought H2s just for this reason.
Get the S55.

The Ferrari 456, four seater but two doors may be inconvient. I've also heard rumors of a new model on the horizon. I suppose I could give this one to my girlfriend [/B][/QUOTE]
I was looking into getting a 360 Spider, but a friend of mine says they arn't very reliable... Even though they are offering a 36,000 warranty now.
He had a hardtop and now he has a spider, they are great looking, but I don't really need to get anything that extreme.
I'm just an every day kind of person.. I've been happy taking the SC300 out ever since the MB floodout.

Thats one reason I am going with the AMG model. It is suppose to have a far higher standard in quality. They tell me that the engines are completely hand built and they have to pass much higher quality checks. Plus, its a company write off. You have to realize why it costs me less to buy a $100+ car than a $70,000.00 car. Any corporation partners will know the answer to that.

the AMG engines might be better built but the electronics and wiring are still the same.
