it has a great history. one small detail on the JGC you'll see all over is 1941 logos because i guess that's when it all started
As to where the name "Jeep" first came from, opinions differ, even with auto-historians. The majority consensus among them, though, is that it started as an abbreviation of the military term for "General-Purpose" vehicle, or "GP"...nicknamed Jeep. The rest is history.
but the squarish uconnect screen was good for its time but old now and too many controls are only on the screen.
the seats are narrow and the overall packaging isn't that spacious.
the pentastar v6 is decent (better than most people think) but could be a bit smoother and quieter.
the hemi v8 is ludicrously thirsty.
the lane assist on the one i had and the collision warning was not as accurate or smart as on my newer g90.
so plenty of areas for improvement.

Time marches ever forward. If you drive a JGC now and compare it with more modern vehicles that have the same sort of market position, its age is apparent. Time for a new model. I enthusiastically bought the vehicle twice, in 2011 and in 2014. I wouldnt choose one today.

I’m not saying a new platform won’t be as good or better. I hope it is but I think the bar is set pretty high. Of course they can make it bigger but I like the size and love the ground clearance.
