Default Oh My, aTundra Hybrid?

Courtesy of Motor 1 (https://www.motor1.com/news/353949/t...rid-spy-shots/)
A weirdly camouflaged Toyota Tundra test mule is under development in Michigan. When leaving a traffic light, the only sound coming from the pickup until around 30 miles per hour (48 kilometers per hour) is an electric hum, according to the spy photographers. The evidence of the noise and concealment combine to suggest that this might be our very first look at the brand's upcoming hybrid powertrain for the truck.

Until we see evidence of what the spy photographer heard. It’s all just speculation.

Also, if you look at the hubs. They are 6 lugs. Not 5 like the current LC, Tundra models. This really could be anything.

Does this mean there's a new V8 hybrid powertrain as well?

GX is the only Lexus with 6 lugs. Maybe the next one will share something with the Tundra?

Or Perhaps the Tundra will mimic the Titan and become a 1/2 ton 3/4 ton tweener

Would be great. I assume whatever makes it to the Tundra, would also make it into the LC, LX and Sequoia. I’m intrigued.......

Not all that surprising. The Wrangler is rumored to have a PHEV option in 2020.

I don’t know if this claim has any merit, but would be very interested if this were true. I assume the engine would be for Tundra, Sequoia, LC and LX.

For it's own sake and the purpose of the these trucks, I hope so. I can't imagine anyone will be happy with the V6 hybrid in this mountain of a truck.
