The only thing that looks the same between those 2 cars is that they are blue. And BMW might have offered Estriol Blue before Lexus had a similar color.

The L Signature light pipe design looks reminiscent of the GS to me, but fair enough.

Do not see the similarities between the GS and BMW. However, the decklid of the new 3 has similarities to the current IS decklid. Both are prominent with a similar brow. Also, when unlit, the taillights are similar. What happened with the 3 is the rear took on a more asian appearance. Not a bad shift in my opinion.

Not only that, but, according to reviews and comparisons I've read in Car & Driver / Road & Track (I didn't test-drive one myself) the Boss 302 Mustang, until it was dropped a couple of years ago, even had the road manners of an M3.

Since Ford formerly owned Land Rover, to me it looks like Ford took the Land Rover design template to start the Explorer design. The profiles particularly look extremely similar.
