2020 Cadillac CT4-V and CT5-V
Top-Spec Cadillac CT5-V Will Have Supercharged 6.2L V-8
The highest-performance Cadillac was expected to get the Blackwing turbo V-8 but apparently can only fit the 6.2-liter supercharged V-8, sources say

All of this could have been avoided if they had just called them VSport. It's really that simple. V once meant the highest performance from Cadillac. Now they're going to have to call these V+ or V Extreme or something ridiculous. smh Cadillac.
---
Nice that the 6.2 Supercharged is sticking around, but who the heck is making decisions at Cadillac. The Blackwing is going to be an orphan engine, one and done
Hope they find SOMETHING to utilize that engine or else it's a huge waste
Both of these V sedans will clearly sit at the top of their respective lineups, although we still don't know what Cadillac will call them to set them apart from the current CT5-V and CT4-V models. The naming scheme has gotten confusing, as Cadillac is now designating these medium-performance models as V-series

Here's a corporation that is seriously neglecting (or dropping) sedans left and right. True, we're seeing two new sedans from Caddy (as opposed to Chevy and Buick, which are dropping them), but, as you point out, not able to take true V-power engines.

Gonna bump this thread up a little to add that one of my condo-neighbors (not a close one, but in a different part of our multi-section condo) came home with a new CT4...Gray (Satin Steel Metallic) and AWD. There is still a market for sedans, even if a smaller one than in the past.

Because it is sometimes difficult to get good cell-phone pictures in my neighborhood without compromising one's privacy/address or license-numbers (which I greatly respect), I often post Google-image-look-alikes instead of actual photos.
I think his actual car had the optional 19" wheels. 17" wheels are standard for non-V versions.

the wheel gap on the one in that pic is awful. as you say, since that's not your neighbor's one, maybe it was 'setup' for transportation or something odd because that gap can't be normal.

wheels are 17s or 18s and 17s are on base 'luxury' trim, and 18s are on sport and premium luxury trims.

Only 250 of each will be available
Cadillac will unveil its high-performance CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing sedans on Feb. 1 and will accept reservations for the cars the same day. Only 250 examples of each car will be built for 2022, and immediately after the reveal, customers can secure one of these Caddies with a $1,000 deposit, which is refundable. Deliveries are set to begin in mid-summer.
As a special enticement, those first 250 cars will get a numbered plaque on the steering wheel, which indicates the model, transmission, and build sequence. Note that the plaque comes only on cars equipped with the high-performance steering wheel, which based on the teaser image below appears to have carbon fiber accents. It's standard on the CT5-V Blackwing and included on mid-level and higher versions of the CT4-V Blackwing.

We already know that the CT5-V Blackwing will be available with carbon fiber seatbacks. More exciting news is that Cadillac will buck the prevailing trend and offer a six-speed manual transmission as standard equipment in both cars. A 10-speed automatic also will be available. It's not yet known what engine will power the sedans, although it's not expected to be the eponymous 550-hp Blackwing V8 that had an abbreviated run in the just-discontinued CT6-V.
Cadillac has also announced that Blackwing buyers can avail themselves of a 2-day high-performance driving school experience at Cadillac's V-Series Academy at the Spring Mountain Motor Resort in Pahrump, Nevada. They're on their own as far as getting there, however.
The unveiling of the two new Blackwings on Feb. 1 will take place at the brand's main website as well as its Twitter page.
