And I also got a pleasant surprise with one of them....turned out to be a guy I had gone to high-school with, roughly half a century ago. We sat in a number of the same classrooms together...just one row apart (alphabetically). He had sold Toyotas and Hondas, and was now with BMW/Mini. In addition to talking cars, we had fun talking over old times.

Keep in mind that Hyundai and Kia did this years ago, in trying to combat years of poor quality reputation. But once they offered this longer warranty, it's hard to take it away without an impact on sales. They are kind of stuck with it now, for better or worse. Seems to me that it's been for the better.

Please--every brand had good and bad dealers and sales people. I've had a sales person cop an attitude with me regarding a Nissan Sentra. Until you do a scientific poll of all dealerships of all brands, this is merely your "impression", and not at all a fact.
