2002 Toyota Avalon Value
I have a 2002 Toyota Avalon with 72k original miles that has a P0325 code (knock sensor). The car also has some spots of clearcoat paint failure on the roof and some other areas on the roof and trunk that are in the early stages of a clearcoat problem. Other than that, the car is in very good mechanical and cosmetic condition for its age. I am having difficulty coming up with a private party sale price for a car like this because of the combination of low mileage plus the aforementioned issues. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Not knowing the Avalon specifically, one would think that this vehicle has many miles left, 200k at least. A knock sensor is nothing, on my 1998 Maxima it just means you're going to cut your hand installing it because of it's location, but the part cost is inconsequential. If there are other cars for sale online, you could likely get a price. If anything, it's worth a decent amount based on being reliable transportation. Good luck.
Take it to Car Max and get their offer. It will be low, but should set the minimum price for your particular car. Then set your asking price at some level above their price that you are comfortable with and test the market at that price.
