Default lifesaving designs on police vehicles

I found this interesting, that Ford actually added weight to the structure of the police vehicles, in the interest of greater safety:

Also that a new interceptor is coming out with an SUV able to go 150 mph with one of the engines (not sure which). Sounds like it's no joke, able to sustain a 75 mph rear end collision? How do we get one?!

A little off-topic, maybe, but too bad they didn't learn that lesson with the Pinto.

Police do not need vehicles to go 150mph nor should they be going anywhere near those speeds in a chase, just asking for innocent people to get killed chasing someone at those speeds.

I wish that were the case when I was 19, listened to my idiot richey rich college roommate, "Keep going, they'll never catch you." He never heard of Bell Helicopter, and wasn't the one going to jail anyway.
