Our local Genesis dealer showing 1 GV80, and since they are close did a swing-by. Went in, asked about a GV80, got a kind of blank stare, like 'what is that?'. They are currently combined with a Hyundai dealership so it should be interesting how things pan out in the near future.

That is simply inexcusable. I get it - not everyone is a car enthusiast, but to not know what a GV80 is WHEN YOU'RE SELLING Genesis vehicles is laughable (and not in a good way).

If there was only one, they might have already sold it by the time you got there.
5 years the brand has been available. Very difficult to overcome st this point. . Acura had 150 dealers in America on their first day of sale in the 80s.

Depends, they never offered as profitable of a vehicle in those 5 years as well. I`d agree without a doubt if this was after their GV launches.

Agreed, they really screwed the pooch on the rollout of the brand.
There is no way to succeed for Genesis with their current models because the brand has not been successful at creating or making itself into a actual brand. Next year will be the 6th year of the brand. If existing car dealers out there are not willing to invest in dealerships franchises, that is very telling. Genesis will be a money losing proposition for quite some time.

Yup they should just give up now and stop selling Genesis.
What you don't mention is they sell a load in their domestic market.
I do agree they have a tough road but it all begins and ends with product. And that's getting worlds better. Many successful brands have bad dealers lol
There’s a lot of hate for Genesis, but they are making vehicles that I actually want to buy. I am more interested in Hyundai and Genesis for mid sized SUVs than what Toyota has been putting out. Time for Toyota to get moving and put some new product on the market.

Exactly. If the product is good, it will sell and make the company successful. I recall last year that many said Tesla would go under because they didn't have dealership network and they were too small. Obviously, they made a great product and now have great things ahead of them. The Genesis products are getting excellent reviews so I'm sure they are in their way to success.

I don't hate Genesis at all, I think they are building great product and really want them to succeed. They really do need to address the dealer issue though.
