That grille looks goofy, to the point I chuckled when I scrolled down. Terrible, also my girlfriend had a 7 Series and it was the most unreliable POS I've ever seen.

Are these LED headlights or those cool new 'laser' ones?

Looks like I'm in the minority, but I quite like it. I think the grill looks classic BMW while offering more presence than the outgoing model. I'll wait for my final judgement until I see it from further away and from more angles, but so far, I'm good with it. See it in your review mirror and you'll KNOW it's the new 7 Series.

The 7 always has had a dignified conservative look and this one looks good too. Really love the lines except for this thing about the oversized grill. Saw the X7 on the road recently and no, those big buck tooth twin kidneys don't look that much better vs pics.

But that's ok. Maybe BMW will sell you a gigantic toothbrush to keep it all nice and clean.

Can the grills on the 7 Series and X7 still be called kidney grills? I like this 7 though.

It's pretty grim that. I've no idea what they are thinking with that grille. As my old dad would say; purely for those whose only taste is in their mouth.

Regardless, the point still stands, it would have been more esthetically pleasing if there were more symmetry in the three elements.

On my G30 (BMW 530e) and E92, they were able to design it this way, and I find that it looks fine in this regard.

I don't mind it. Not bad, not great. It's all the trend that bigger is supposedly better. Note also, many are on the slim LED tail lamp trend too (BMW, Audi, Porsche, Lexus UX, etc).

These big grills are getting out of hand. Hideous IMHO...
