Hydrogen vehicles discussion
A number of vehicles (including city buses) are indeed propelled by natural gas. But you're correct that it is not in widespread use.
I was not implying filling up with CNG at home, but at the nearest gas-company location, as some of their own vehicles do. Aside from me, Jill, Och, and maybe one or two others, there seems to be so much hostility in this thread to hydrogen use for vehicles that perhaps we should also consider some closely-related alternatives such as this.

Maybe I could have used a better term......opposition rather than hostility. EVs, and especially Teslas, are, admittedly, a rather divisive subject on Car Chat...always have been. So, to an extent, have been hydrogen fuel-cell cars.

20 years ahead in hydrogen. The article doesn't even mention Toyota and best case....
6% at best for the UK assuming Toyota is the only one in the game. That means if Toyota goes all in on hydrogen their sales will shrink over 90%. I'm certain Toyota is not that foolish.
The report foresaw around 6% of new cars and vans produced in the UK could involve hydrogen fuel cells by 2030, if its calculations are correct, compared with current forecasts nearer 1% for continental Europe and the rest of the world.

Let's hope it can be developed but also hope the stupid mandate of banning gas cars in 2030 is rolled back to buy more time for hydrogen to replace all this EV nonsense.
