Aside from me, Jill, Och, and maybe one or two others, there seems to be so much hostility in this thread to hydrogen use for vehicles that perhaps we should also consider some closely-related alternatives such as this.
There isn't much hostility besides from the usual Tesla shills.

Maybe I could have used a better term......opposition rather than hostility. EVs, and especially Teslas, are, admittedly, a rather divisive subject on Car Chat...always have been. So, to an extent, have been hydrogen fuel-cell cars.

Not sure how and why this video wasn't posted, but as usual, and excellent technical breakdown of hydrogen ICE engine.

20 years ahead in hydrogen. The article doesn't even mention Toyota and best case....
The report foresaw around 6% of new cars and vans produced in the UK could involve hydrogen fuel cells by 2030, if its calculations are correct, compared with current forecasts nearer 1% for continental Europe and the rest of the world.
6% at best for the UK assuming Toyota is the only one in the game. That means if Toyota goes all in on hydrogen their sales will shrink over 90%. I'm certain Toyota is not that foolish.

Let's hope it can be developed but also hope the stupid mandate of banning gas cars in 2030 is rolled back to buy more time for hydrogen to replace all this EV nonsense.

I think EV passenger cars are here to stay. The hydrogen infrastructure for trucks and semis is definitely going to get built out and will be part of our landscape though.

Only if the Electrical grid and the charging network are able to sustain the increase. Lots of work to be done.
