"Barking seal" brakes
A few months ago I had to have my ABS actuator replaced. Very fortunately, this $2K+ repair was covered by warranty. The actuator under the hood was operating normally, but about one time in twenty it would "bark" like a seal when the brakes were applied.
This is, apparently, a fairly-common issue, and I am wondering if affects only a certain category of Lexus vehicles or is spread out over all. In my case, I'm driving a 2010 RX450h.
I don't want to drive a car that "barks" when I step on the brakes, and I'd be shocked if Lexus corporate thought this was a reasonable behavior for a luxury vehicle. Anybody know if there is some sort of recall for this issue? Again, I was very fortunate to have my replacement covered under warranty, and I think my RX is a terrific car. But these cars shouldn't bark.
