Agreed! I spend years working for both Cadillac and Mercedes. Always found it frustrating how even on the Cadillac V series, customers would walk in and say the CTS-V was for old people. Sometimes people get stuck in the past.

Agreed. Leads me back to my argument that people really want soft but think they want sporty. All comes down to marketing and that first test drive.

Cadillac V series is world class. But the perception of it is far from it.

So make it 'look' sporty, but make it drive 'cushy' lol

No. It has to have some sweet spot in the way it drives.

Which is why we have adaptive suspension with modes

I saw the new LS at my dealer a few weeks ago, at the time that excitement was building for the ES. Approaching from the rear, I thought at first that it was the new ES but then I noticed the strakes on the taillamps.

The LS does look smaller than it is, and so, in comparison, does not have the LARGE presence that the S-Class and 7-Series have. And despite what some people say, it does not look like a Panamera either. It is a modern Japanese interpretation of the full-size sedan. I am happy to see Lexus start to follow its own styling language rather than try to be another European sedan.

I did not drive it but did sit inside. I found the seats, both the front buckets and the outboard rear seats, very comfortable and very supportive, and the most comfortable I have ever sat in.

The 3GS was low slung, swoopy, with a raked rear windscreen, and a small opening trunk.
A bit cosy on the inside.
It was very softly sprung and also very softly damped.
It has electronic variable dampers which automatically reduce the valve opening in some 8 steps, or it can be manually set to Sport to use the smallest valve damping opening.
Because it was low, it can't have that much suspension travel.
The 3GS had L-Finesse style.

The 3GS sold a lusty 33k+ on debut, and this led to its replacement by the 4GS...

The Avalon touring is not cushy. And it has AVS.

Some people really do want sporty. But then having a softer mode for comfort when you want it is nice.

I finally got to drive an IS 350 with the adaptive suspension a few days ago. Compared to my IS 300 AWD, which doesn't have AVS, it definitely felt sportier. Less body roll for sure. However, the ride was still smooth in Normal mode.

No. Not only are they two completely different platforms, but the Camry is FWD, the LS is RWD/AWD.

i could be wrong but i'm pretty sure that was only a comment on its appearance

the LS has always kind of looked like a big camry though, even more so 20 years ago
