2017 Ford GT Sells for $2.5 million at auction

Barrett Jackson had a GT up for auction for charity and it went for $2.5 million

Well done!

The insider on at the Ford GT Forum noted that the buyer already owns one

I love the hand-wringing sellers' high drama nervous comments "it's a 'no reserve' auction, so if someone bids $ 1.50 I have to sell it to them for $1.50".
Or, you can bid $1.60 yourself, and pay B-J $ .29 commission.

What's wrong with a little theater? The 2.5 (2.7? OP lists both numbers) million is real enough, isn't it?

Sorry, typo, $2.5 is the number.

I would think that since this was a charity situation, the fee may not be the normal one.

I am looking forward to seeing how the new GT does vs a 720S on the track.

Worst case if B/J collects a commission, if the charity ends up with net proceeds of $2 mil, it's a job well done. But you would think that B/J would waive the commission--actually, what they probably do is collect the commission, and then kick it back to the charity so B/J can take a tax deduction as well.
