The going view among many in the auto industry is that Tesla will probably end up as a battery or electronics manufacturer, not an auto manufacturer. The decision to have company-ownership of all the dealerships, franchises, and service-facilities simply bit off more for them, in overhead, than they could chew.

Everyone has forgotten that Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning were the 2 original founders of Tesla, before Elon Musk came aboard.

People have also forgotten or never knew anything about Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne.

You can't condemn an auto maker for something that might happen in the future.

Actually, it wasn't my forecast as much as from the auto press in general. But it is no secret that Tesla has bitten off more than they can chew in overhead.
