If you're okay with the 2nd generation styling, that's probably the one to get. 2.4 liter engine, automatic and AWD. RAV4 is a great choice but it might go for more money as they so popular.
Its either the matrix, rav-4, or rx300 I do not know what to get honestly.

I've got a 2004 Pontiac Vibe I bought brand new. 140,000 miles right now and still running strong! I am sure it will run 10 more years and will hit 200K, no problem. Just regular engine oil/transmission oil maintenance, together with air filter/02 sensor/serpentine belt/PCV valve/brake pads/rotors replacement. The only "repair" it has ever had is replacement of one of the wheel bearings. Great daily, plenty of room, and decent economy. Body and suspension still solid and all accessories still work.
