Wow, this exactly what they told me, too. My BlueDriver diagnostic tool was showing codes B2799, 1795, and 1150 after passenger airbag off light came on. My mechanic said this was a Lexus body code and he could not fix it. Dealer said my car might be worth something overseas but they could not even take it in as a trade for the liability. Yet there's are sensors out there for sale. Agree with you that if Lexus IS unwilling to stand by their mostly excellent products, then they are not nearly as good as cars they make.
