Yes, I'm sure you'll find them on a few niche or limited-production cars....like UDel pointed out on the DeLorean. My point was that outside of the SVX, I don't remember seeing them on production cars in significant numbers. And probably for good reason.....the complexity and expense of producing them, just so one can drive in the rain with windows open and not get quite as wet.

I definitely wouldn't expect it too with the captains chairs. As for the second row bench that's pretty close to 50/50, maybe 51/49 . Many second rows don't fold 50/50 because the cushion is angled upwards to give better leg circulation for second row passengers especially on longer trips.

Function over form, but that's what Subaru's loyal base wants. This is going to be very popular and likely bring in a lot of the Highlander/Pilot/Explorer folks to the brand.

So whoever owns a Hyundai Accent, then buys a new Ascent... better get their paperwork organized. Sheesh. There should be more regulation on stealing similar names.

I'm sure this will sell very well. Especially to Subaru loyalists, who always had to look elsewhere if they wanted a larger SUV. Or maybe if they were completely blind they were one of the 3 people who bought the old Tribeca

.......and probably saved a lot of money, at least up front on the initial sale. But, when the (probable) depreciation of a Tribeca kicks in, well.................

Well, there have been so many new vehicles introduced over the years that the industry may be starting to run out of names. Takes more and more research to come up with a truly original one.

#firstworldproblems

with the accent being a subcompact Hyundai and the ascent being a mid-size ute from Subaru and the meanings of the names being completely different, i don't see the need for another worthless government bureaucracy on names.
