I think the Crown's six sided windows is barely an improvement on the 5LS's six side windows, while I still find that the Avalon's six side windows the most attractive in overall shape.
The Crown's front end is nice.
While the 5LS has the most chrome work to feel most upmarket.

I don't even know if the Crown can be called an improvement... Maybe it's because the Crown size is really the largest that the market will buy. I don't think they see many LS/S/7/A8 in Japan due to the sheer size of those vehicles. The 6-light on the Crown almost looks like an afterthought. They wanted to maintain rear seat head room while giving a coupe-like raked rear roofline.
Interestingly, the Mercedes E-Class in certain parts of Asia also tries to cater to the larger rear seat space and has a much more upright C-Pillar and subsequent rear door
Can't wait to see what they do with the next GS. Everything they have produced after the current GS debuted has been pretty wild in the styling department. Could be just what the GS needs to stand out a little and make an impression.

I guess when a car gets really long, it must have six side windows [nee rear quarter glass pane] like this Maybach.
My only issue is that Avalon's six side windows looks nice, while 5LS and 2019-25 Crown's look wanting.
It's been a while since TMC products looked so Japanesey [nee Infiniti-like] in styling.
It's also been a while since Honda products like the latest Accord looked so Japanesey too.
The new Mirai looks terrible. So too the new Prius, and I'm not a fan of the new Camry's styling either.
I suspect the latest generation of TMC products may be styled to suit the tastes of its new President Akio Toyoda...

Out of all of the profile shots we have on this page, my two favorites are the Maybach, and the LS500. Despite the goofy execution of the C pillar window, its the sleekest out of all the vehicles here, especially on the front, I really like that low hoodline. The E-class in looks pudgy in comparison.
This thing looks like new Camry - can't Toyota just hire some decent designers at least for their RWD cars.
Unfortunately Hyundai/Kia beat them to it by scooping up outside talent from Europe. Toyota is a sort of split personality company. On the one hand you have extreme caution with no real styling risks for years and years. Then you have the "Akio" effect, which dictates silly, fad-driven trends that have the "Fast-Furious" nonsense going on.
The Crown unfortunately looks silly. Very much a Chevy Impala-like design. There is so much styling and design talent out there but the one thing Toyota has fallen down on is looking outside its universe to think about who they're selling these vehicles to. How is it that Mazda, the perennial underdog of the Japanese car makers manages to turn out beautiful value-drive cars and SUV's?
Even the 6 sedan from years ago is a beautiful subtle look.
I think Lexus hit a pinnacle with the gimmick-free 2IS. This was just before the crazy spindle grille and excessive front overhang debuted. Low and sleek up front, high and boxed in the rear- the same aero principles for race cars. A traditional, yet elegant sports sedan with the perfect proportions.
The traditional TMC products post 1980 were beauties.
They were somewhat conservative, but stylish, neat, slick and smooth.
A timeless design that ages very gracefully...
I thought the traditional conservative but neat, combined with the spindle in the: 4 & 4.5GS, 3 & 3.5IS, 6.5ES, NX, 4RX and LC - were all nice.
I think it became ridiculous with the Prius and Mirai, while the 2018-24 Camry, 5LS and 2019-25 Crown marks staledom.
The new Camry is the best of a bad bunch.
The numerous sharp & deep creases on the new Camry will ensure that it ages very quickly.
Somehow, TMC's latest designs lack harmony - they look somewhat bizarre.
This new Camry isn't half as beautiful as the new 4RX.
While sedans have become taller and taller over the past four decades, enter President Akio's zest for "inspired" styling and "inspired" dynamics, and this Camry becomes amongst the first recent TMC sedans to lose height for a lower seating position, with more difficult entry and egress.
Keep in mind that the lower the car, the shorter its suspension travel, and hence we must watch out for ride comfort, as short suspension travel reaches its bump stops very quickly...
