How much Lexus spend in R&D for LFA?
#4
The big number that was discussed was that the LFA program took $800 million with each car costing about $750K to produce.
Remember, in the world of big companies, some costs lead to things used elsewhere, like the moving bezel dash used in the IS and some controls layout/look seen in the new LS and LC.
If you want a Demon, go for it, but that is not the kind of car Lexus delivers.

Whatever.
All I was trying to convey was that the LFA was a sporting GOD and it seems Lexus did nothing with the money spent in developing it. RC-F is trash and so is the GS-F. Why spend 800M and send these out as "replacements".
I wasnt advocating sending out a Chrysler POS as you would claim them to be but **** man, release an F and have it be meaningful. A 2003 C55 AMG has more horses than this GS-F.

Btw 2005 c55 AMG has 362 hp from a 5.4 v8, the GSF/RCF has 467hp from 5.0 v8
posting wrong info on the web while bashing a brand you own can seem pretty stupid

There is a reason the Dodge is cheap compared to a similar car with 700hp+. It's because the build quality is complete and utter sht all the way around. The paint looks like it was done at Bob's garage, fit and finish is terrible and it feels like a rental car after you sit in any decent luxury car that costs over $60k.
You think Lexus or anyone that builds high quality cars can make an 800hp car that costs $80k? The base, non-optioned M5 doesn't have anywhere near the power of a Demon yet it still costs well north of $100k.

LFA was only built because of Akio Toyoda and its a very special car imo.
Prices on it will only appreciate over time.
LFA helped to launch "F" and "Fsport" both of which have had s significant impact on the Lexus brand.
Hopefully they will do a follow up to LFA one day as MB, BMW, Audi are all developing supercar/hypercar of some type.

Who ever said that the RC F and GS F are "replacements" for the LFA? Have you ever driven either vehicle? While not perfect, they can both easily put a smile on ones face. There are more dynamic factors to today's vehicles than just straight line performance these days.
