Thanks for the article, Winsalem. It was on my short list, but the road noise took it out of the running for me.

These and the Mercedes brother are extremely squashed- to the point they look like they had parked next to a building that dropped it's facade after a California earthquake. Silly direction for an SUV in my opinion.

Yes, yes we do. It is going to get worse before the purge begins.

It is crazy that the market is so obsessed with CUVs/SUVs these days that even subcompact hatchbacks are being dressed up as SUVs (like putting a fat suit on a chihuahua and passing it off as a pig). Infiniti figured they could not sell the Q30 as a hatchback so they butch it up a bit and sell it as the QX30 SUV; its Mercedes-Benz cousin is also nothing more than a dressed up subcompact hatchback.

Can you imagine a Yaris with a higher suspension, and bigger wheels and tires?

The QX30 is selling slightly better than its Mercedes counterpart. 6532 vs. 5915 thru March.

C&D recently did a comparison test which included the QX30 and GLA. The order of finished was: X1, NX, GLA, QX30 and Q3. In C&D's words, the X1 ran away with the comparison test.

QX30 definitely has some weirdly dumbed down/worsened parts relative to the GLA that it's based on.

Infiniti is selling a ton of these in NY.
Leases at $200-300 probably.

I can't pick which is uglier, the Mercedes version or the Infiniti.

In my experience it's not even close, the X1 is 10x better than the nearest competitor.

The X1 is already in its 2nd generation while the others mentioned here are still in their 1st. BMW has been able to improve and upgrade as needed with the new gen and it shows.

Previous gen was RWD, new X1 is FWD so its all new car. BMW started from scratch pretty much.

BMW / MB are pushing FWD now and electric cars - need to buy me a E92 M3 asap lol.

Subaru has been doing that for a long time now. Looked bad then, too...
