I like the restraint comment pertaining to its looks. I prefer this RS5 over slightly more boy racerish M4 in that regard. The C 63 AMG always looks like its in a suit. ATS V is unique but brash, sort of beauty and beast. The RC F is one of my favorite cars because of the motor, however I do believe it is the ugly duckling of the 5. If the RC and RC F ever adopt LC styling.. game over.
Some people don't like the look of the RC-F based on pictures... as soon as they see it in person they change their mind...
IMO the RC-F is the one of the bunch that has the exotic car looks and you know it when people go "holy crap that's nice! what car is it!??!" lol
As far as the new RS5, it looks like it just got minor tweaks on the looks, a bit more aggressive and more sharp lines but I feel it's missing the wow factor that the old one had when it came out. I like the performance numbers it's putting down. I'd have to see it in person and drive it. Might consider it since my GS lease is up at the end of the year but then again, do I want to switch from Lexus? hmmm....
None of those new cars would make me do a double-take when they roll by. Why? Because they don't have the same distinction the E46 M3 vs 3-series had. You can easily tell from a distance if it's a M3 or just a 3-series rolling through. Nowadays, they all look the same with the "F-sport" or "M-package" or "AMG package" from a distance.
So as far as looks factor goes, new cars do nothing for me.
Edit: just using E46 as an example since that's a car everyone here knows. Other models are also more distinctive such as the second gen CTS-V or the Evo's (except for X).
Indeed. A lot of noise as of recent, on designers from other luxury/exotic brands leaving to head to Hyundai/Genesis/Kia. We could be in for an extended period of some really visually appealing Koreans cars. Great time to be an enthusiast!
I nornally stay away from these "looks like this look like that" type of comparison, but since the audi grill went more hexagonal looking, I noticed it looks very close to the sonata (and this was 2015).
It does look more aggressive looking than the old model.
oh please---- grill is different, lights are different, wheels are different, oh but wait, it does have 4 wheels.
