Here, here. I never understand the warranty argument with an unreliable car. Sure, it won't cost you anything to get stuff fixed, but who wants to knowingly deal with that?

I can't answer this, but I've seen the inside of the top of the line Tucson--and that's pretty darn nice. So, maybe the entry level regular Santa Fe is down market, but if the top of the line is inferior, that means that the Tucson is better than the Santa Fe. Seems like an odd way to go.

Room, comfort, and refinement. The smaller Santa Fe Sport (even with its brighter paint colors LOL) seems aimed at younger, perhaps single people or smaller families, and/or to those to whom ride-comfort is not as much of a priority. The 2Gen Santa Fe (which has been superseded by the more recent 3Gen) was especially cushy in its road manners, but suffered somewhat in handling.

The regular Santa Fe has four more inches of wheelbase and a couple of hundred more pounds of curb weight, which tends to help smooth things out a bit. But, I guess it's possible for them to both feel similar if you're driving a Sport model with its smaller base wheels/higher profile tires and a regular Santa Fe with the optional, more sport-oriented ones....that might tend to cancel out weight/wheelbase differences.

The LS460 and LS460L have 5 inches in wheelbase difference and they ride the same to me too, I don't think it makes that much difference.
