But God Damn, you'll look damn good with her...
HAHAHA - best post...

I can say that my S5 Cabriolets gave me 9/10ths the fun of my S5 Coupe. They had great structural rigidity. Maybe they gave me 10/10ths the fun because I could hear the exhaust much better with the top down. I never got "blasted in the face with wind" because all it takes is a deflector over the back seats and it is as serene as a coupe with a sunroof. There is nothing better on a beautiful day than a convertible with the top down. It is a zen experience. The only reason I settled for a coupe this time around is because we have the G37 Vert (which isn't very structurally rigid and will be traded for another S5 Cab when our lease is up).

A DB9 or a Maserati vert would be my dream car. Just more than I need to spend.

There isn't many GT cars out there that is a convertible with V12 + manual gears. It's one that looks good with the top up or down. The 2+2 configuration is an added bonus when comparing to other desirable toys such as Corvette, MX 5 and Jag F Type.
As someone has posted, it's going price is about the same as a base Vette, so I probably can sell my 92 NSX and add a little cash to acquire one. My biggest fear is the reliability of the DB9 because I don't want to be stranded while heading to/from the golf courses.
My mother had a DB9 for a while. It had periodic issues that were fixed outside of warranty for the usual exotic prices. The issues were random things like a dead nav unit, window regulators, etc. Nothing devastating but it wasn't a cheap car to own by any stretch.

Also, you lose rigidity unless extensive measures are taken, and that top isn't cheap to fix when it goes wrong.
Blasted in the face? What verts have you been driving? Honestly with the top down in a modern Mercedes SL you can have a conversation with your passenger without even raising your voice.

That isn't always true and I haven't heard of a convertible built in the 2000s and later that suffered from leaky soft tops. Modern day verts are designed from the beginning to be verts so they usually don't suffer from a rigidity standpoint.
