As I was getting out of my car heading to work the other day, back Prius flew by me. They had to be going about 50 in a 35. Maybe the drivers think they have something to prove since they drive such a slow car.

Every one I see around here drives very slow, you are lucky if they are doing the speed limit. Usually they are doing 5-10 under, its like the driver is afraid to drive! And don't get me started about their other driving habits like driving so slow when turning at a light you end up missing it because it takes them about a minute to realize the light changed then another 30 seconds to actually figure out they have to hit the gas to make a turn! I avoid being anywhere near them at all cost. In general I see the same behavior in all electric and hybrid car drivers. Its like they don't want to use the gas pedal because they are afraid of what would happen.

ITs all evident in both cases, I either see them going Ultra slow or Extremely fast for a Prius.. These drivers aren't the most skillful. I saw one merging in traffic awhile back, they were trying to Merge onto Stop-n-Go traffic. Half of the car was in one lane and tail end was on the exit ramp blocking others from getting by thus causing the situation to jam up worse, and the driver had this "SMUG" look, like they were saving the environment by driving a Green car..

smug about hypermiling or smug about being 'smarter' than other drivers and so somehow entitled to drive faster too.

I bought one primarily to get ahead of traffic. The unrestricted use of the HOV lane during peak hours has been very beneficial and have seen a savings of 15-20 minutes from mine or the wife's commute. I haven't had any issues of pushing it to 80-90mph and still see an efficiency of 55-70mpg depending on road conditions and driving mode selections (e.g. ECO, PWR, or combined with EV). Handling is not its best forte, but can be compensated with suspension upgrades. Adding a Cusco STB did wonders to the car. I'm planning to add the TRD RSB and beef up the underbody with Cusco reinforcement bars.

All the ones around here drive 10mph under the speed limit. It is quite annoying actually. The cars I see hauling *** the most are those smart cars. They fools blow by me on the interstate all the time. Like they have something to prove. I don't get it.

Lol I drive 75mph+. Got pulled over going 90 but CHP let me go with a warning. I drive my prius hard but still get 40+mpg. Conservative hwy driving will get me 55mpg. Awesome car!

All of the above! What do you expect from idiots that spend a extra $5,000 so they can save gas money.
