Agree, they are really ruining the Land Cruiser.

Some of that new switch-ware looks very LX-esque. Here's to hoping the LX gets an even more distinctive interior

Hopefully for the LX's sake, especially after seeing the work on the 2016 RX. You correctly called it when you knew it wasn't a redesign, as the timing didn't fit. I just don't understand why some personnel are unable to read between the lines and differentiate between refresh/facelift and redesign. It can be quite lazy, if you are actually working for a firm and that passionless or clueless about your own product.

I've given numerous personnel an earful (background info, not insults), when interruptively approached at auto shows with some of the most inaccurate and useless information. Someone at a Honda stand at NYIAS, claimed the Civic is due for a refresh in 2016.

It is just a lot more luxurious than before... as it should be, since it is very expensive vehicle...LC sells worldwide while LX sells only in handful of countries. Gimping LC interior never felt right for me.

Am I the only one who likes that? The front face has the sharp edges to make it contemporary yet it also retains some classic LC silhouettes. The interior also looks good enough to compete with a Range Rover. Volvo went with sharp lines on the outside and simple shapes on the inside of the XC90, looks like Toyota are going the same way.

Oh boy. That is one fugly front end. I guess someone at Lexus likes Land Rover. I'd walk right by this and head straight for Mercedes diesel full size suv with it's 25 mpg. Unless Lexus brings something big to the table I don't see this winning hearts & minds.

yeah... those seat heater switches especially.... but in general, everything feels like a nicer Camry... not luxurious like Japanese expensive Toyota's for instance (Crown, etc).

Photoshop. Interior is also from the current model.
As for the exterior, how accurate is this rendering remains to be the question?
A big spindle is coming but if the LX does end up looking like this photoshop then i will be disappointed. Even if they give it a very nice interior, it would be such a shame for that interior to be wasted on something that looks like that. Current model front end looks so much better, to me anyway.

I'm not a fan of that grille, either, but the rest of the vehicle, IMO, looks like an SUV instead of a space-ship....you can actually see out of the windows.

And, like it or not, there are many places in the world, particularly in remote areas with very poor roads (or no roads), where the public would sell their soul for a new Land Cruiser or LX.
