Lexus IS/GS vs. BMW M3
Hey all,
So I did a quick search and didn't really get the answer I was looking for in the previously asked threads. I am looking to buy a Lexus IS 300 (1st gen), GS 300 (2nd gen), or BMW 3M E30/E36. I have never owned cars like these, I have had mostly muscle cars my whole life and have always wanted to build a fast "import". From everything I have read these two cars have unlimited potential, and my question to you all is which is the best for performance? I love the smooth shifting on the BMW and I have driven a modded up Aristo and both rides have their pros and cons. Any one who has done work on both have any suggestions or recommendations or even links to forums or articles.
I am looking for ease and less of a headache to mod out, please don't be rude and tell me to start with a Honda or some b/s like that. I may have ever worked on cars like these but I learn quick.
Thanks in advance
Prince

Find a clean GS400 or 430 and mod the suspension with some coilovers and TRD anti roll bars.
For a DD - its awesome and no headaches.
If u want cheap HP, GS or M3 are not good platforms imo.
You would need to do an engine swap to a 2jz gte most likely which is costly but u will have unlimited potential.
Depends on your budget And if u have a shop that had knowledge on doing these engine mods...

Thanks man, I considered the gs 400 but from what I understand once you switch out the engine you get problems with all the interior switches. As of right now I do not want to spend a penny over 20k. I figure I can get a clean 300 for 5k and a bamf gte for 3k which leaves me with a huge pocket of money to upgrade everything else. I need to figure out how complicated the swap process is though.
