Is the FR-S in short supply too? The numbers look pretty bad for a car with a lot of hype behind it. I kinda like the car..

hype? nice car, but it's been out years and i see almost no media coverage at this point. i'm sure supply is limited too - at dealers they almost never seem to have any except one on display, maybe!

Now we're just waiting on Mercedes!

BMW Group U.S. Reports December and 2014 Sales

WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., Jan. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The BMW Group in the U.S. (BMW and MINI combined) reported December sales of 48,141 vehicles, an increase of 9.5% percent from the 43,981 vehicles sold in the same month a year ago. At year end, the BMW Group (BMW and MINI combined) is up 5.3 percent on sales of 395,850 compared to 375,782 in 2013, a new record for the BMW Group U.S.

"The record result in 2014 for BMW proves that solid growth is still possible when you have the right products that provide good value for the customer," said Ludwig Willisch, President and CEO, BMW of North America. "The increases across the BMW line make us optimistic about what's possible in 2015. I am also very glad to see that MINI set a new sales record in December and I have no doubt MINI will have a great year now that the new models are becoming available."

I suppose the hype was mostly from the forums and magazines here and there, not necessarily through Toyota advertisement.

I read somewhere that the sales target was 20k units a year. Last year they almost reached it with 18,327. This year ended at 14,062 which is kind of concerning. I just checked my local Scion dealership and they have 7 of them on the lot. I'd buy one if it had more power.

Hyundai Motor America today announced a record December sales month of 64,507 units, up 2 percent versus the record-setting period in 2013.

This is the 5th consecutive year of record U.S. sales up over the previous year and totaling 725,718.

“We ended the year on a high note,” said Bob Pradzinski, vice president of national sales. “And it was evident that the CUV segment was red hot with our exceptional sales for the year for both Santa Fe and Tucson.”

The Santa Fe and Tucson finished the year with sales of 107,906 and 47,306 up 21.5 percent and 13 percent, respectively. The all-new Sonata and Genesis sedans saw sales increases for the month of December up 24 and 17 percent, respectively.

With the North American International Auto Show just around the corner, Hyundai is making plans to reveal the all-new 2016 Sonata Hybrid and Sonata PHEV, in addition to a special concept, setting the stage for another strong year.

Certified Pre-Owned sales ended the year at 95,486, a 26 percent increase over the previous year.

Yeah problem with the niche cars is that eventually everyone that wants one has one so the numbers start dropping off dramatically
