I never thought the shifter was that tall in the current Tacoma. Here's my old one:

I like the look so far...

280hp/300 ft lb tq and I am sold. Don't forget POWER seat, at leas the driver seat, and better MPG. Maybe 10-15% gain vs. the current would be NICE.

Default This is the Face of Toyota's All-New 2016 Tacoma

After showing the tail of the 2016 Tacoma last week, Toyota has now brought the head of its all-new pickup truck into the spotlight.

The front-end shares some familiar styling traits with the latest 4Runner SUV, albeit executed in a more rugged fashion.

Official details remain thin and the only thing we know for sure is that the next generation Tacoma will have its world premiere at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

"The all-new 2016 Tacoma will be ready to once again set the benchmark for midsize pickup performance," Toyota said in a statement. "Backed by a heritage of unwavering capability, an unbreakable attitude and new, rugged tech, Tacoma’s off-road prowess is more formidable than ever."

Most curious the power trains. I'm sure it'll be a handsome little trucklette

I see styling clues from the refresh Tundra.

More like a 4Runner refresh. But 1000x BETTER.

I was super excited about he new Tundra, and then, well they rolled out the new Tundra. Toyota has a huge opportunity here but I bet the "refresh" is no more than skin deep, but I hope I am wrong.

See the all-new 2016 #Tacoma this January. It’s already causing a ruckus – and no one’s even seen it yet..

I think it looks better than the Tundra.

IMO, Toyota should just can the Tundra and focus on this, since they can't really compete in the full-size segment. Their area has always been the small trucks.
