This segment is hot and getting even more competitive. MKC and NX coming out now and the next gen Q5 and GLK are both on the way. It's a great time for anyone shopping in ther luxury compact CUV segment.

That 2.7 would be awesome, but with two turbos attached, it might still be a task to make it fit. I like Lincoln's new direction. They just need a proper RWD flagship now.

You, of course, are the final decision, but I don't necessarily see that as a deal breaker. If you need room for a large person in back, just put him on the passenger-side back there and have the person in the front seat next to you slide the seat forward a little. Now, of course, if you have to carry TWO large persons back there (and you're driving)...............well, that may be a different story.

I understand that the next MKX will use much of the technology from the MKC as well as similar styling. It is about RX350 size so it should fit my needs. Mike will be glad to hear that an optional engine wil be the 2.7 V-6 Ecoboost that make 325 hp and about 350 ft lb torque.
I'm not as concerned about HP/torque with a V6 as I am with refinement....a turbo four will often give you the same or better power. The present MKX already uses V6 power, so that alone is not an issue. But the present MKX, IMO, is also poorly-done for a luxury-class SUV, is somewhat unrefined, and drives too much like its less-expensive Ford Edge twin (which is also, IMO, not terribly impressive). In other words, it's a perfect example of why, outside of the MKC, Lincoln is simply not selling cars today. As you say, let's hope the new one is an improvement.

I found the same thing when I test drove one. Also, the cargo area is smaller than the NX.

Displacement doesn't always match physical size. mmarshall points out the 2.5L lexus V6, its still a big engine. Physically its the same size as the 3.5l v6.
