Yes, some V8s (even boosted ones, like with the S8), are still available in high-performance cars, but the new CAFE regulations haven't formally kicked in yet. It's no secret, though, that more and more of them are getting replaced by turbo or twin-turbo V6s. The new CAFE regs probably won't entirely kill passenger-car V8s, but you won't see many models left with them.
All well and good (and I commend them for trying), but 30-MPG vehicles can only go so far when you have a CAFE standard coming up that will average over 50.
Anyhow, everything else aside, guys................I agree this is one heck of a nice car.
