Default Flashing indicator Low 2 gear

Anyone know what this indicator is referencing? the 2 to the left of the Low gear in the right instrument panel is flashing. Shifting the gear makes no difference

Welcome to CL as a new poster.

It sounds like the transmission had a malfunction/failure of some sort and the car's engine/transmission computer locked it in what is called a "Limp-Home" mode in which the transmission is locked in second gear. That gives you the ability to start up from a stop (with some engine lugging) and drive to the nearest repair shop slowly. That is normal with the "Limp-Home" mode...for the transmission to stay in second.

A technician will probably have to download the malfunction code, inspect the transmission, and maybe do some diagnostic tests to determine the cause of the failure and/or what repairs may be need.
