Default Getting a car wrapped

Has anyone had experience with getting an entire car wrapped ? How much should someone expect to pay for a full wrap in something like a gloss black ? The thought crossed my mind that it might be much cheaper then the 6-7 thousand dollars I have been quoted for a repaint on my LS430. Or is this just a bad idea completely ?

I have. Here is my car in 202 OEM Black

Here it is wrapped matte white

Wraps used to be handled by only a few shops but today anybody says "oh I wrap cars" and they mostly do a terrible job. A good wrap job is around 3 grand and more. They will take their time and actually "WRAP" the car, not use a blade to cut and tuck (with can damage your car). Those guys that do it quick will charge 2 grand or less but you get a pretty crappy wrap that will peel with gaps and will just **** you off.

A great installer will take parts off and wrap the vehicle. I was very happy with Brian at Precision Installs.

I choose one of the most difficult colors, matte white which STAINS. In other words once something gets in it there is no getting out. Notice in the video there is purple paint at the bottom door. I actually ran over a can of paint shooting the video and it sprayed on the car. There was no way getting it out. That means even a bug hitting your car gets into the matte. Other gloss colors are easier to take care of so most go that method.

Taking off the wrap was easy and the paint was unharmed.

Good luck and don't go cheap!!!

thanks for the advice . I am pretty new to this idea so any input is much appreciated. i called one place so far and he said without seeing the vehicle in front of him 2-3 grand. They use 3m products and said it would take a full day to do. Here is the place
