Its priced lower than premium, the base cars require premium the competition requires premium so that whole premium argument doesn't make sense.

Depends on location. Premium at the cheapest station close to me is still 20-30 cents cheaper than diesel

This. I don't recall ever seeing diesel cheaper than premium...

It depends on the location.

During my vacation in the USA (April-June 2010), majority of fuel stations in California and Nevada have Diesel fuel as having the same price or more expensive than Unleaded.

But when we entered Utah, it was the other way around. Diesel there is cheaper than Unleaded.

Also:

In most of Europe as well as in Asia Pacific, diesel is cheaper than unleaded.

So yeah, it depends on location.....
