Toyota Pro line introduced on Feb 6th
Interested in seeing what Toyota will actually bring to market with the Pro line. A teaser commercial is currently showing a Tundra, Tacoma, and a 4Runner and many are speculating that the Tundra Pro will compete with the Raptor. The exterior bits (at least what can be quickly seen in the teaser) does look nice but it'll all be about what's underneath that counts. Is this going to be a design exercise and the Pro line is only for show and no go or will it actually be a fully engineered (to some extent) extension of the respective models with some chassis updates? Maybe some engine updates. Superchargers all around? I'd guess if the Tundra Pro is serious about going after the Raptor, it should have some kind of suspension kit on there. I guess you could say that the Rock Warrior edition is the for show line so I'd expect the Pro to be the real deal.

TRD does make many add-ons but this is expected to be a complete factory package/factory line like how the Ford Raptor is. Also, the Raptor is a real off road capable vehicle and not just for show. The expectations are if Toyota is going to use "Pro," then people are expecting these vehicles to be real off road capable and not just for show with the TRD add-ons.

The 4Runner/Tacoma platform is one of the most capable on the market, so Pro versions of either could turn out to be kick @ss! It would be cool to see them offer different trim levels, some with the supercharger and some without. For me, I don't need a S/C over top of the 5.7L iForce V8, but I'd take one on the 4.0L V6 gladly 
I'd love to see Toyota do something like Ford's Raptor to highlight their off road prowess and bring some much-needed recognition and glory to the TRD name. These types of niche niche vehicles seem to be gaining in popularity...fingers crossed.

With the head of Toyota calling to add some passion into the Toyota/Lexus brand, it seems that we are actually seeing some fruit from this mantra. LFA, FRS, RC F, hoping for IS F, we'll see with Pro line.
Yes, many people use the 4Runner, Taco, and Tundra as mall cruisers but the demographics of people that actually buy the Taco and 4Runner show that more of these buyers actually use the trucks as trucks and go off road. Therefore, if the Pro line really does shake out to what is being rumored and ends up being the real deal, I think Toyota will have a winner on its hands. Even if a majority of the Pro line buyer would still only take it to conquer the parking lot malls, it's still a winner because the people buying it for its true purpose would become really loyal to the brand and vehicle line just like how the Ford Raptor now has a following just because it's a freakin Raptor that is actually capable of going off road straight from the factory.
I can't wait to see what's in store. Frankly, I'm expecting a lot. Simply by calling it a pro line, you'd think that this is the real deal instead of being all-show-and-no-go add ons.
