You might be able to rest the "Average or Tank Average" displays and see if it improves the readout. There's always so many variables to consider

The distance to empty measure always change depending on your last couple of miles driven. That way they can adjust to how you're driving the car now and in what conditions. If you are driving in the city for the last couple of miles and then you get on the highway, you'll see that number increase gradually, and vice-versa.
