As for worldwide Lexus needs to be consistent and offer all models worldwide. Some countries don't get the ES, IS or GX, etc...We in the U.S. don't get the IS 300h...

Not sure if you are referring to Lexus worldwide or US? For Lexus US the best sales year was 2007...

they didnt release them yet, they will probably release official numbers when quarterly info is released, sometimes in march... maybe sooner since it is record year for both TMC and Lexus.
but in November they already said that Lexus will have record year:

Nov 20 (Reuters) - Lexus is aiming for a steady 5 to 10 percent annual growth in the coming years, an executive said, as the luxury brand of the world's best-selling carmaker Toyota seeks to establish a more global presence in the premium market.
The company expects to sell a record 520,000 Lexus vehicles this year, up about 8 percent year-on-year. The United States last year accounted for about half of Lexus' global sales.
Lexus officials say despite the growth, the priority is building a stronger brand image rather than volume.

TOKYO -- Lexus will reach a global sales record this year, a top executive said while unveiling the close-to-production prototype of the luxury brand's RC sporty coupe.
Mark Templin, executive vice president of Lexus International, today said worldwide sales would "finish on the north side of 520,000," edging Lexus' all-time high of 518,300 units in 2007.
And Lexus' volume should rapidly expand in the next couple of years as U.S. demand recovers and the brand adds product, he said. The RC and a compact crossover are upcoming entries.
"We've already come to surpass our 2007 number, even though the U.S. market hasn't grown back yet," Templin said. "The biggest growth in sheer volume over the next few years is going to come from the U.S., just because the market is still growing back."

Mercedes beats BMW in luxury race

Mercedes beats BMW in luxury race
Rival's December dash made it a close 2nd
Mercedes-Benz had to withstand another December charge by BMW to capture the U.S. luxury-brand sales crown for 2013 -- the first time Mercedes finished on top since 1999.
Fresh products did the trick, said Steve Cannon, CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA.
Mercedes launched the new CLA compact sedan and a redesigned S-class sedan in the fall and a significantly revamped E-class range earlier in the year. Cannon said improved customer service, the result of a major effort Mercedes undertook with its dealers last year, also played a role.
"The volume is a validation of what we are doing in the marketplace and what we are doing with our dealers and our focus on customer experience," he said.
Mercedes ended the year with record sales, up 14 percent from 2012 to 312,528. In December, its sales rose 17 percent to 33,007.
2013 sales of 14,113 CLAs were a major contributor to Mercedes' win over BMW, but the S class and E class outsold the competing BMW 7 series and 5 series.
Cannon said the CLA generated traffic in showrooms, but he said the vehicle is now in short supply.
"The fact that we sold faster than we expected means we will have to deal with lean inventory for the first quarter," Cannon said.
"But that will resolve in the second quarter."
Buyers who came into showrooms looking for a CLA often wound up buying a C class, which will be redesigned this fall, Cannon said.
Mercedes ended the year 3,248 units ahead of BMW division, which cut sharply into the lead in December. After 11 months, BMW had been 7,610 vehicles behind.
Helped by an incentive blitz, BMW sold 37,389 units in December. That was about the same as December 2012, when BMW's late push enabled it to come from behind to ****** the 2013 luxury crown from Mercedes.
"We were so close, it was OK -- it was less than 1 percent in the end," said Ludwig Willisch, CEO of BMW of North America.
"December was an excellent month. It was better than we expected."
Willisch said BMW could have done even better, but it did not have full availability of the redesigned X5 crossover, which arrived in the United States in late November.
BMW division's U.S. sales for the year rose 10 percent to 309,280 units, breaking BMW's 2007 record.
Willisch predicted another record year in 2014, with such products on the way as the 2-series coupe and convertible, the i3 all-electric car and the all-new X4 crossover.
BMW was tops in U.S. luxury sales in 2012 and 2011. Before 2011, Lexus had finished first for 11 straight years.
Lexus was No. 3 again in 2013, up 12 percent to 273,847 vehicles. December sales rose 14 percent to 34,757 units.
"Lexus had its best sales month in seven years, and the luxury segment outperformed the overall auto industry in December" said Jeff Bracken, Lexus general manager. "We expect the luxury market will continue to expand in 2014."

Last year wasn't quite the blockbuster year of sales growth that 2012 was, but there are plenty of automakers in our table with reason to be happy. Subaru, for instance, duplicated its 2012 performance by again recording annual sales growth of over 26 percent. At the other end of the spectrum, Mitsubishi followed up its 2012 performance of 28–percent sales growth with a much healthier 11-percent gain in 2013.
Among individual brands, other standout performers from last year include Jaguar, which led all brands with 41-percent growth, and Cadillac, which followed up a negative year in 2012 with a nearly 22-percent gain in 2013. Some brands, however, couldn't avoid the red, including Lincoln, whose rocky launch of the MKZ may have contributed to its results being slightly in the red, and Chrysler, down nearly 2 percent last year compared to stellar growth of nearly 40 percent the year before. Also surprising to see in the red is Kia, which couldn't maintain the sales growth it saw in 2012 and recorded a loss of over 4 percent last year.
Lastly, it's worth noting that companies as a whole (those reporting multiple brands) all reported positive sales growth in 2013. Among the major players, even with Lincoln dragging it down somewhat, Ford Motor Company performed best, with sales nearly 11-percent higher than the year before, followed by Nissan North America (9.35 percent), Chrysler Group (9 percent), Toyota Motor Company (7.37 percent), General Motors (7.33 percent) and American Honda (7.21 percent).

some thoughts on lexus...
despite all the rants about the lexus ES on these monthly threads and elsewhere, i'd say lexus NAILED their target market.
the IS is doing very well too, but it's still very new. we'll see how it is in 6 months.
GS had a good december but amazing to me it was outsold by the A6 but then the A6 is a bit more mainstream and the 4GS was obviously designed to be bit polarizing and with only one engine choice (except the rare hybrid).
CT doing surprisingly well (to me) given how slow it is and that it's really pretty light on space, but i can see it being bought by younger persons doing well who are interested in style and being environmentally conscious.
with NX, RC and other models and new versions of existing models coming i'd say lexus has a lot of solid momentum. for various reasons options availability (lack thereof for some) and very limited and rigid configuration is still disappointing though, but perhaps lexus simply makes more money on cars elsewhere in the world or has concluded (probably rightly so) that it's doing just fine anyway, so the business is might lose isn't worth the extra logistics and cost.

i think the ct is selling great and i expected that. i am not sure if it has much to do with the environmental thing, but the price and the styling to attract younger audience totally worked for lexus i think. i see tons of them around and mostly young drivers. this is the most important for lexus imho to lower the overall age of their buyers.
the gs i have nothing much to say, i have said enough on what i want to see on the car. i think the IS is still a variable, i agree it needs another 6 months to see how it goes. the rc i think will be very crucial and it seems like lexus thinks so too. i am not sure about the sales volume coz' it's a coupe, but i think it's again more important on the overall image of the brand. if sales shoots up it's just a huge plus

FYI, the base A6 is a FWD, CVT, 210hp car for 42k base and it can be had for under 40k with dealing. It should sell better than the GS who's base car is a 306hp, RWD, 48k car.
