My modded 2013 Hyundai Elantra... the journey
So I was looking for an econo-box car with relatively good MPG and looks to begin a mod project on. Stumbled on the Hyundai Elantra... Hyundai??? WTH, eh? Well check out my sig file, I have never ever owned a Korean car in my adult life. Long time Lex owner/fan (all SOLD, unfortunately) but now all German lux cars in the stable... Audi, BMW and an AMG
So I bought this new 2013 Hyundai Elantra and began the project. The story will be told in pictures.. So here we go.
On the dealership lot on pick-up day... fully bone stock...
Body kits & Lighting Mods
--Tuix front lip kit
--Rear dual-exhaust diffuser
--Rear deck-lid spoiler
--35% tints all around
--Halo Projector headlights with LED surround fogs,
--LED stock fogs, LED Halos, LED high beam, 6000K HID lows...
--exLED Trunk Smilie LEDs
Now on to rim and suspension stuff...
--KYB shocks (rear)
--Eibach Pro-Kit Springs (for the Hyundai Veloster)
--18" Genesis Coupe rims (+33 offset)
--225/40/18s
Now all coming together...
Front profile
Side profile shots
Night shot
Comparo--- mine versus Stock... at night
At a 2-car photo-shoot...
Finally, here it is sitting right next to "The Beast"...
Coming soon...
--front tower brace/stabilizer (Luxon)
--rear sway bar (torsion beam) - PierceMotors/Whiteline
--and more to come..
Stay Tuned...

Some nice pictures, Blue....and welcome to CAR CHAT.
You made a good choice with the present-generation Elantra (and good luck with it). Unlike the previous-generation model, the interior/exterior styling is a little too Space-Age for my tastes, but it seems to be a well-built small car, and has an excellent warranty.
Since you are new to CAR CHAT, Here's my personal review of the present-generation Elantra (I occasionally do reviews in this forum, and Hoovey2411 posts a lot of autoblog reviews). I did it a couple of years ago, but it is still essentially the same car today, without a major redesign. I do reviews both spontaneously and, when possible, by CL request....this is a slightly shortened one, but typical of my style.

Thanks Bit. The E is mine as my DD so that the SLK remains the weekend/nice day ride. My older daughter drives the A4 since she turned 16, now at 21, that car is like crap but she loves it so. My other daughter lives in NYC so no need for a car...

Finally, the 143Hp motor is anemic and really lacks any true performance. Turbo kits are still in development so no help for now... If one becomes available I may be tempted...
We shall see...
