Well, Hoovey, thanks to autoblog, you beat me to it.

No, seriously, thanks for posting. I think this is going to be a watershed vehicle for Lincoln...arguably their best new product since the Town Car was dropped. I was well-impresssed with the one I saw up on the turntable at the D.C. Show in late January...especially with the superb dark purple Tahitian Pearl Paint. The Lincoln reps there said (probably) April 30 for the national release...but that was obviously off, as local dealerships here have them on order but still not delivered yet. You can bet the monthly rent I'll do a review myself when they finally make it in, if there are any unsold ones.

Soon as they come in, Joeb, I'm on my way....providing they aren't all pre-sold

Hoovey's posted a pretty nice write-up here, though. I'll have a good idea of what to expect.

Yes as usual Hoovey did post a wonderful review.
The more reviews the better on this interesting to me model.

One thing you won't have to run your hand over is the fussily idiotic capacitive-touch 'sliders' that control key climate control and audio functions on the MKZ. They're gone, replaced by simple, functional rotary ***** and physical switches. Halle-freakin-lujah, Lincoln actually listened. Pass the bubbly.
Yes...that was one of the things I noticed about the one on display at the show. I remarked to the Lincoln people how much I disliked the stack-controls on the new MKZ I reviewed. They said that had gotten a lot of complaints about that....not just from me. In my view, there is no substitute for simple, easy-to-use round *****.

What will really knock your socks off, though, IMO, is that Tahitian Pearl color....which Lincoln promises will be available on production models.

I wonder if they have plans for a hybrid? Might be too pricey, but it could be a very solid entry here

The Q5 is available as a hybrid, but Audi is pushing the TDI more than the hybrid.

Possible, but I wouldn't plan on it. The MKC basically comes from the Ford Escape platform. When the new Escape was introduced last year, the hybrid version was dropped here in America in favor of the sister Ford C-Max Hybrid. But, to me, the C-Max is not really a car-based SUV like the Escape and MKC.......in reality, it seems to compete more with the Toyota Prius V wagon.

Thanks Joe and Mike. I've bolded some highlights from the article and the MKC appears to be a hit. I'll look forward to Mike's own review (hopefully in that gorgeous Tahitian Pearl ). Unfortunately there is not a Lincoln dealer that is easily accessible in my area to do a Hoovey Review.

A no cost hybrid option like the MKZ is a great idea. Especially with the Q5 Hybrid and upcoming NX Hybrid

I doubt it. Ford said that there are no plans for a Escape hybrid so I doubt there would be a bespoke Lincoln. its just not worth the development costs.

Lincoln had a MKZ painted that color at the Phoenix auto show and it looks great in person. Very dark, a bit like Infinitis' Malbec Black. It is on the MKC website, so it is a production offering.

On the East Coast here, a number of them are on order....and, supposedly, on the way. I wouldn't be surprised, though, if CA gets them first, especially in the L.A. area, which is the center of the country's auto culture.

I'm with you guys on that, but, as I stated earlier, the discontinuing of the American-market Escape Hybrid didn't potentially do the MKC line-up any good. Also, it is possible (which is my guess), that the marketers want to wait and see how the conventional gas-version sells before committing to a more-expensive-to-produce hybrid.

I certainly do. Purple/Amythist has always been my personal favorite. I don't agree with the old stereotype of purple (especially the more muted/subdued Amythist purple) being a feminine color. Nor, IMO, is pink stereotype-only for females and gays/lesbians, either. Elvis Presley, a Macho rock singer if there ever was one, not only gave away pink Cadillacs as gifts to his friends, but owned some himself. One of them is still on display at his Graceland Museum.

I'm hoping the actual color is better than the rendering shown here. A lot of the new colors have to be seem in person to tell what they really look like.

Colors also often appear different in bright sunlight than they do in the shade. Bright sunlight usually brings the full effect out.
