Default Jaguar C-X17 Concept Wears Red for the Brussels Motor Show

Jaguar’s C-X17 Concept debuted with a blue paint at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year, then switched to gray for the Dubai Motor Show and finally went for a brown-gold hue at the Guangzhou Auto Show.

If you thought Jaguar’s search for the perfect color has ended, think again, as for the Brussels Motor Show (January 16-26), the crossover concept made its appearance wearing a flashy Italian Racing Red paint job.

Compared to the study displayed in Guangzhou that featured a 5-seat configuration, the Jaguar C-X17 has now reverted to its original 4-seat concept. No other changes were made to the sporty crossover concept, which Jaguar still insists it has created to showcase its all-new advanced aluminum architecture.

The new platform will debut in 2015 on Jaguar’s upcoming entry-level sedan, which means we’ll have to wait even longer for a production C-X17.

So Jaguar, I give up: the C-X17 looks great in red too. When are you going to build it?

Default Jaguar C-X17 Concept Reviewed in Dubai, Still Very far off Production Model

The Jaguar C-X17 debuted in blue at the Frankfurt motor show in September, and closer to the current moment, in silver, at the Dubai motor show, where a handful of journalists got their hands on it, even though it’s purely a show car.

Two magazines, including AutoExpress from the UK and Autobild from Germany had a go too, during which they made it clear that, at least in its current form, it’s still very far from production-ready.

Its steering needs too much lock to go around corners (and even straight, apparently) and the suspension is not tuned to iron out bumps, clearly not helped by the massive 23-inch rims it rides on.

Still, the UK reviewer does concede that there is ample space inside, and the driver is given the feeling of sitting in the car, rather than on top of it, an unwanted feeling that many cars display nowadays, but the Jag engineers were clear about avoiding.

The big rims, coupled with the stiff springs, lack of soundproofing and the lack of anything even closely resembling a production interior mean this test is inconclusive, but at least it confirms what we already knew: the C-X17 is a looker on the move, and while this silver example is not as spectacular as the blue one, it still promises to be one of the prettiest faces in its class (if/when they will finally admit to making it).

ok, I think its pretty clear now that this Jag will be produced. At this point, they are just prepping the public to seeing a Jaguar SUV. Looks good though.

I concur. Broadening brand image and social view of the company. Jaguar SUVs will still be more Chić and city dwellers than their Land Rover siblings

Default Jaguar F-Pace teased ahead of 2016 launch, will be a C-X17 production version

Previewed by C-X17 concept

Jaguar has announced through a teaser photo their high-riding model will be commercialized with the "F-Pace" moniker.

Essentially a production version of the C-X17 concept, the Jaguar F-Pace will be “the ultimate practical sports car” according to global sales director Andy Goss. Rather than being labeled as a crossover or SUV, Jaguar calls this their “family sports car” sharing the same lightweight platform with the XE compact sedan from where it will likely inherit the engine lineup.

Other details are not available at this point but we do know the model is scheduled to go on sale in 2016 and will likely be offered not only with four seats but also with five as previewed by the concept showcased at Guangzhou Auto Show back in November 2013. Jaguar says their new model will combine an exterior design influenced by their sports car with a "thoroughly practical and spacious luxury interior."

My first impression was that it looked like a Volvo from the front.

How much? I know if you have to ask you can't afford it, that's a safe bet.

considering the number of premium SUVs that are sold in the US , I think Jaguar has left a lot of money on the table, so to speak, by even waiting this long to make their own. The streets of most nicer neighborhoods are awash with high end SUVS. Bring it Jaguar.
