Glad it's not your car.

That damage pattern is probably intentional. The Town Car has an enormous underhood compartment...much larger than even the big V8 engine itself. That, of course, leaves plenty of crush-space for the body sheet metal to fold up and absorb impacts, keeping them out of the cabin. That's one reason (among several) why the Town Car is so popular with seniors. In fact, before those cars went out of production recently, a number of driving instructors in the over-55 Defensive Driving courses (which often qualify for insurance-premium-reductions) were recommending that their students buy the Town Car, Grand Marquis, and Crown Vic as their personal daily-drivers.

That's a good color for the C7. Hides all that black plastic on the rear bumper

The C7 is also using carbon-fiber, not just plastic, for some of its body-panels. That may (?) also explain the impact-resistance of the door panel.....besides, of course, the Federally-mandated side-impact bar inside the door itself.

Always hard to tell with not knowing the situation, but it looks very solid!

Yet another internet wreck that makes no sense. A t-bone like that would have separated the two cars far more. My theory is they did hit and separate further, but the Lincoln kept moving forward after impact and finally stopped almost up against the Vette again.
Also bear in mind, whenever streets are wet and there's an impact, damage is always less because the cars have a chance to lose their "planting" and slide off the force.

I saw this in the Corvetteforum newsletter. It kills me to see a Vette get hit like that but it held up pretty good with that impact.

Even with the damage it's still a good looking car.

It's a really shame to see this beautiful 7th gen Corvette to be damaged by an on-coming car.

On a positive note though:
This serves as an "opportunity" for engineers to take a look at how the crashed Corvette has fared.

The part I'm talking about (rear bumper) is not carbon fiber.

From what I can tell, the Corvette was trying to make U-Turn at the end of a block, just before an intersection, and an oncoming Town Car T-boned him right in the middle of the turn (the Corvett'e front wheels are still turned)....but that's not a given, just my opinion.
