Since I'll 'build' the car to spec I can genetically manufacture the sex too. How about a sassy lovers name to keep Watson comfortable at night while they share gas tank purges . Got a name for that?
Going in tomorrow morning to place the order. #24 dropped off the list for a convertible that isn't in production yet. I can take that spot and still spec it. Should be here between late October and early December barring production slow downs. One option is going to be the new exhaust tone program. You can manually change from one to the other. Here's a clip of the standard C7 exhaust note. Pretty impressive. With that option and the L3 pkg plus a few more items I'm up to about $63+. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c7-g...aust-clip.html
Today I placed an order at the 2nd largest 'Vette dealer in the SE. Out of an allocation of 38 for the '14 run and 32 sold, #24 gave up his spot for a rag top not in scheduled production yet. I took it.
Ordered a Torch Red Z51 Coupe with 2LT trim + Navi, Blk Wheels, Performance Exhaust, Carbon Fiber dash, black mirrors & spoiler and Red Brake Calipers. If no delays in production I could see 'HER' as early as November but probably later. Sold at window sticker with no additional fees. Several dealers are ordering loaded models for stock and holding for 10K over.
Will look a lot like image below. I may cancel the black mirrors and spoiler and leave them red. The top will be red as well. It's still carbon fiber but not clear. The dk clear carbon fiber top is over $2k.
Its a sick car, congrats on the order. Had a meeting today with an "insider" that works with GM. Cars are being built now and some parts are available in the store. 1,000 will be built then GM is going to beat them to death to work all the kinks out.
Demand is of course off the charts so the best bet is getting them from larger dealers who will be allocated more cars. Everyone will pay over MSRP at first.
I hope to have driving impressions late July, early August as we work on a killer build. It is going to be THE car to have at SEMA for anyone that can get it.

Nice stuff to hear indeed. =)
Btw, I am curious, was there anything that your "insider" said regarding future versions and more powerful variants? (though this current C7 Corvette base variant is already monstrous in its own right)
Toward the end of July they're supposed to start with 001 (Jim Hendrick's car) and then cars for us mere mortals . I was told the start up numbers but I was getting info through a fire hose yesterday a that significant part wasn't retained .
