Hey's baaack... howdy all, Rdgdawg here...

One new change- the Optima has gone home as I needed more room with new growing family... so new to the stable is a 2013 Mazda CX-9 AWD Touring. I plan a full write up later on, but quickly:

Pluses
- Seats 7 comfortably
- Quick, handles like a sedan, I've taken many turns at nearly the Optima's speed... some body roll, but feels tight
- Well made, no rattles, plenty of standard features including back-up camera, stellar radio, etc.
- Parks well for SUV, feels like a sedan in all situations
- Seats are comfortable, leather, heated, very adjustable
- AWD in snow with all-seasons works fine, dedicated snow tires would be lights out
- 3rd row down, tons of space, even more with 2nd row down
- LOVE the car, period!!!!
Minus
- Sucks gas, about 20mpg combined, well under the Optima (knew that going in)
- Not much storage with 3rd row up
- No day time running lights
That's it for now.... good to be back, will be checking in, further review when time allows!!!
You probably got a decent deal on it. CX-9s don't sell in quite the huge numbers that Highlanders and Pilots do, do the dealerships are more likely to be flexible on the price. The Mazda website shows a "liquid silver" color for the CX-9, but yours looks more light-blue.....or is that just the light and camera?
As with any new vehicle, take it easy on the engine, transmission, and brakes for the first 500 miles or so....and no towing. New-car break-ins today aren't as critical as they once were, but still are a good idea.
Since you last posted, I got a new ride myself....a Buick Verano.
